LucidRows Privacy Policy

Introduction

LucidRows is a Chrome extension that helps you extract structured data from web pages using a visual point-and-click interface. This privacy policy explains how LucidRows handles your data.

What LucidRows Does

LucidRows allows you to:

• Select elements on web pages to define data extraction patterns ("recipes")
• Preview extracted data in an editable table
• Export data as CSV, Excel (.xlsx) or JSON files
• Save recipes locally for reuse

Data Collection and Storage

All data stays on your device. LucidRows:

• Accesses page content only when you are actively picking fields, walking pages, or running a recipe on a web page. It reads the list page you pick from. With Walk pages, it also loads the next pages of that same list on the same site, as your browser would. It does not open the individual item pages.
• Stores recipes locally using Chrome's chrome.storage.local API — recipes never leave your device
• Downloads exports locally — CSV, Excel (.xlsx) and JSON files are saved to your computer's Downloads folder
• Does NOT upload any scraped data, recipes, or browsing information to external servers
• Does NOT require an account or login
• Does NOT sell your data to third parties
• Does NOT use your data for advertising purposes
• Does NOT implement "phone-home" soft caps or usage tracking

Permissions Used

LucidRows requires the following Chrome permissions:

• activeTab — to access the content of the web page you're currently viewing when you activate picking or run a recipe
• scripting — to inject the picker interface and extraction logic into web pages
• storage — to save your recipes locally in Chrome's local storage
• Site access on all websites (host_permissions: <all_urls>) — required. Chrome asks for it when you install LucidRows. It lets LucidRows read the page you pick from on whichever website you use it on, and load that list's next pages on the same site when you use Walk pages. LucidRows sends nothing it reads to us or to anyone else.

These permissions are used solely to provide the core scraping functionality described above.

Data Retention

• Recipes remain in local Chrome storage until you delete them through the extension interface or uninstall the extension
• Exported data remains in your Downloads folder until you delete it
• Uninstalling the extension removes all locally stored recipes

Third-Party Services

Extension: LucidRows does not transmit scraped data, recipes, or browsing information to us or to any third-party service. Its only network requests are the pages it loads from the site you are scraping (see Permissions Used). Its links to the Guide, the Privacy page, the Chrome Web Store reviews and Report a problem open only when you click them. If you uninstall LucidRows, Chrome opens a page on lucidrows.com. That visit carries no scraped data or recipes, and it is counted like any other visit to the website (see Website below).

Website: The LucidRows marketing site at https://lucidrows.com may load limited third-party resources to display the site — for example, Google Fonts (fonts served from Google’s domains). That is separate from the extension. Your browser’s requests to those font services are governed by Google’s policies, not by LucidRows’ local storage of recipes or scrapes.

Website

The LucidRows website uses Cloudflare's cookieless analytics, which counts page views and referrers in aggregate. It does not track you across sites, and it is separate from the extension, which sends no analytics. The homepage embeds a YouTube video via youtube-nocookie.com; YouTube may set cookies only if you play it.

Website interest list

If you join the early access interest list, we may collect your email address and an optional note about what you would schedule. That submission is emailed to support@lucidrows.com from our website (no account is created). We use it only to notify you about optional schedule runs and cloud sync interest. You can unsubscribe anytime. This does not unlock local scraping.

Website support form

If you use the support form, we may collect your email address and the message you submit (including optional site URL and version). That submission is emailed to support@lucidrows.com so we can reply. No account is required. Questions: support@lucidrows.com.

Uninstall feedback

If you use the uninstall page, we may collect the reason you choose and an optional note. That submission is emailed to support@lucidrows.com. The form does not ask for your email address, and it does not include your name or a tracking id in the page address.

Chrome Web Store: This extension is distributed through the Chrome Web Store, which is operated by Google. Google's privacy policies apply to your use of the Chrome Web Store itself. LucidRows does not control or have access to any analytics or data that Google may collect through the Web Store.

Children's Privacy

LucidRows is not intended for use by children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy. Continued use of LucidRows after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Terms of Use

Your use of LucidRows is also governed by our Terms of Use, which cover acceptable use, disclaimers, and liability limits.
